Ever wondered if you were getting the most our of your SUP stroke? Worried that you are doing something wrong with your SUP technique that may lead to injury? Want to get an expert opinion on your paddle technique?
Now you can. With the Riding Bumps SUP personalized technique critique, our editors will evaluate your stroke and give you pointers and tips on how you can improve your paddle technique to increase power, decrease fatigue, and prevent injury.
If you would like to submit a video for evaluation, here is what you need to do:
Step 1: Get a video of yourself paddling. We will need to see you paddle in profile on the left, on the right, paddling toward the video camera and away from the video camera. Getting close-ups of where/how/angle of the blade on the catch and exit are very telling and beneficial for analysis so please include closeups of your blade entry and exit as well. We need to see at least several strokes of on each side. As you collect your video, keep in mind that your stroke will change when you are going hard so be sure to get some video when you are at race pace.
Step 2: upload your video to Vimeo or Youtube.
Step 3: contact us with a link to your video . Please let us know if you are currently having any issues that you want addressed.
Step 4: put on your tough skin and get ready to learn . Please note – all videos will be posted online with your stroke evaluation. We will not mention your name but we cannot anonymize the video clips.
Cost : $199 for a 100% private consultation. $99.00 if you allow us to use your video and evaluation on the Riding Bumps website to help other paddlers.
NOTE: If you are in San Diego, you should visit with Chris Hill for a one on one technique session. Sessions are run through the OEX shop on Mission Bay (1010 Santa Clara Place, Mission Bay, CA 92109). The cost is $100 and includes stroke analysis, suggestions for improvement, and applicable take-home drills to help correct any trouble areas.
