We are getting more and more questions from paddlers interested in prone paddleboarding. Whether they are stand up paddlers who are abandoning SUP or using prone paddle boarding for cross training, endurance athletes from other sports looking to get out of traffic and stop stomping on their knees, or surfers or swimmers who just want to learn to paddleboard – the questions that we get time and time again are “how can I paddle faster?” and “how do I paddle without injuring myself?” Unfortunately, we are also getting questions from paddlers who are already injured looking for help.
Our new video, Prone Paddleboarding – Essential Techniques, seeks to answer these questions. This video covers all of the techniques that the beginner and intermediate paddler must know before they race or train on a prone paddleboard. We even cover all of the mistakes new paddlers make including swinging the arms too wide, dropped elbows, poor board position, poor reach, the long stroke, bouncing up and down on their knees, poor cadence while knee paddling, paddling with a dead upper body, and many more. There are even sections demonstrating proper prone and knee paddle technique.
This video is narrated by Roch Frey and both Roch and George Plsek demonstrate proper and improper paddling technique. Here is a quick excerpt to give you an idea of what the video is all about
