Had a question for my prone paddleboard. Where can I order or purchase the handles that I see on many boards? I am looking for something similar to the one that is on George’s board in the prone video. I have seen one type but it lays down flat. Would prefer to have it stick up to grab faster and attach w/o having to put holes in my board.
No problem. As a general rule, in The Unites States at least, handles only come on prone boards that are intended to be used as lifeguard/rescue boards. For example the Surftech Sprinter comes with handles:
As you mention, in our Prone Paddleboard Essential Techniques Video , you can see that George retrofitted his stock Surftech Commander with a handle. George made his using screws/flat nuts and some material and spaced the screws so the handle stuck up. This type of rig works well in a board like the Commander that can hold a screw. If, however, you have a hollow board or you don’t want to drill holes in your board, you can always use something like the EZ SUP handle
These types of handles should work OK for transporting your board but we wouldn’t go all Aussie and try to roll in the surf with them or hang on to your board if you get smashed on a wave. We don’t think that the adhesive was meant to withstand that type of trauma.
Hope that helps.
